Today, April 22, is Earth Day.
Earth Day Canada has grown into an organization as well as a major environmental day celebrated in many countries around the world.

Its mission: help individuals and organizations reduce their impact on the environment.

Each year, this campaign aims to raise awareness among as many citizens and organizations across the country as possible and to encourage people to take action.
What will you do today to help take care of the planet?
Even if everyone collected one piece of garbage per day. It may not seem like much, but imagine if each of us took advantage of our little walk to pick up a piece of garbage on the ground!

Important message from the Principal Rodney Hodder, Carbonear Collegiate:

Important Message from Principal of Carbonear Collegiate, Rodney Hodder:

Hello parents and students of Carbonear collegiate, this is Mr. Hodder with a very important announcement. We realize these are difficult times and ask for your patience and cooperation as we navigate this process.

We have a plan for today (Friday, February 12) for students to pick up Chromebooks and personal items such as textbooks and clothes left in the lockers. Only students who have received Chromebooks before in our previous deployment before Christmas and are on our list will be receiving Chromebooks today. These Chromebooks belong to the school and are on a loan basis, the Chromebooks purchased by the government have yet to be delivered and will be deployed later.

The schedule for today will be as follows:
1 PM to 2 PM = Grade 11 and 12 students
2 Pm to 3 PM = Grade 9 and 10 students
Note: If there is more than one child in a household who attends Carbonear Collegiate then they can come at the same time.

Students are asked to enter the building through the rear entrance by the gymnasium, which is our main entrance. Students who are to receive Chromebooks we will get those in the gymnasium and all students will be given an opportunity to go to their lockers to pick up personal items and books. This must be done in an orderly fashion in small numbers so please be patient. Social distancing and wearing of masks are a must for all who enter the building.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide transportation, so Parents/Guardians will have to make travel arrangements to bring those children to the school. Parents are not permitted inside the building so the students must be the ones to come in and get the materials.

If you are unavailable today, we have an alternate time scheduled on Monday, February 15 between 10 AM and 12PM.

The schedule for Monday, February 15 will be as follows:
10 AM to 11 AM = Grade 11 and 12 students
11 AM to 12 PM = Grade 9 and 10 students
Note: If there is more than one child in a household who attends Carbonear Collegiate then they can come at the same time.
