Jessica and Jacob chat with Dr. Phil Earle of Carbonear, a well-known and passionate advocate in the fishery community in NL.

Dr. Phil Earle shares anecdotes and stories about the fishing industry and his father, Captain Guy Earle.

Dr. Earle has written & published a book, “I’ll go the Length of Meself”, telling the story of Captain Guy Earle, North America’s youngest master mariner.

November 09, 2021: The title of this episode is “Remembrance”  Join Jessica and Jacob as they listen to Carbonear resident and Royal Canadian Legion Carbonear member, Leslie Forward, share stories of Carbonear soldiers through the years.

October 26, 2021: Ghost Hunting at the Rorke Store Museum    During the summer of 2021, Jessica and Jacob recorded clips from the Ghost Hunting at the Rorke Store Museum.  During the session, museum manager, Natalie Austin, and the summer museum students share historical info while local spiritualist, RJ, shares her impressions from a tour of the Rorke Store Museum. These Ghost Hunting sessions were open to the public following public health guidelines. In this episode,  listeners are treated to a portion of the session to enjoy from their comfy couches.

Biographies for the Bed Night Lunch Podcast

Sara Clarke:  Co-host for our podcast, The Bed Night Lunch Podcast. Will be attending school at Memorial University in the fall to work on my English degree in the hopes of becoming a writer. And, I do have a fair share of hobbies such as writing, painting, drawing, photography and playing videos games. I hope you enjoyed this podcast as much as I did, and I hope to be back here again next year!

 

 

Noah Green: I’ll be attending my first year of Naval Architecture at the Marine Institute this coming fall. I’m working for the Town of Carbonear this summer as an EDT student. I love writing and playing music with friends as well as painting and shouting about politics. I’m the editor and co-host for the Bed Night Lunch Podcast. I’ve had so much fun working on this project this summer and hope to be able to return in the future.

 

Kaitlynn Hedd: I will be attending my second year at the Marine Institute studying Nautical Science this coming fall. I enjoy basketballll and volleyball and I love the outdoors, as well as hunting and fishing and hiking. I am an EDT (Economic Development and Tourism Student) with the Town of Carbonear. I had so much fun this summer and hope to be back again next year!

 

 

Preston Griffin: I am a second year Primary Care Paramedic student at the College of the North Atlantic. I enjoy sports and reading and I am also a co-host on the Bed Night Lunch Podcast. I had so much fun working on this podcast and I hope I can do it again next year!

 

 

Kaitlin Clarke:  I recently completed my Bachelor of Arts with a major in Communication Studies and minor in Anthropology. I’m working for the Town of Carbonear this summer as an EDT student. I enjoy reading and writing, and I’m an avid hockey fan. I enjoy playing video games and talking about social justice issues. I am one of the co-hosts for the Bed Night Lunch Podcast. I have thoroughly enjoyed my summer working on the project and I hope to continue working on it in the future!
