CBDC Day
Every year, on the second Wednesday in May, the CBDC network celebrates CBDC Day. This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, CBDC are unable to open their offices to our communities the way they normally do. You can join them to kick off CBDC Day on the Atlantic Association CBDC Facebook page. The Town of Carbonear will be conducting water main flushing starting September 14, 2020 September 14-23: (Areas West of the Community Centre and north of Island Pond Brook) September 24- October 5 (St Clare Ave and areas between Chapel Hill and Crocker's Cove) October 6 October 14 (Southside of Carbonear including Powell Drive to Saddle Hill. Also, Pondside Road and London Road including connecting streets and Forest Road).

In 2003, the Newfound Riders motorcycle riding club established a memorial ride from St. John’s to Carbonear to honour the death of former Newfoundland Constabulary officer, Samuel Jeffers, who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident while on duty in St. John’s in the 1950s.
