Forest vegetation continues to dry out with an increasing risk of wildfires.

A wildfire could start easily and burn quickly. Wildfire suppression would be challenging.

|Permits to Burn brush and other materials are suspended.

Outdoor fires (e.g. campfires) are permitted with conditions.

Activities on forested land should be conducted with extreme

caution.

Use of fire works and sky lanterns is banned.

Provincial fire hazard index maps are updated daily and can be viewed at the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture website (http://gov.nl.ca/…/forestry/forest-fires/fire-hazard-map/), along with information about campfires.
