Here are some tips from the Get Prepared site:

– Secure or bring inside any outdoor items (decorations, furniture, garbage bins).

– Charge your phones and devices in case of power outages.

– Make sure you have extra water on hand as well as batteries for flashlights.

– Avoid coastal areas and stay clear of shorelines during high tide.

– Never drive through flooded roads — turn around.

– Check on neighbors, especially seniors or those with limited mobility.
