During & after rainfall, drains will tend to have an increase of large debris (i.e.. tree limbs) & leaves collect.

When large debris & leaves collect in storm drains, the debris can cause trouble for homeowners & stormwater systems. Once they enter the system, they can block areas that are not

accessible without digging up the piping.

Drain guards or metal bars are put in place to block the debris from entering the system & causing major issues.

Intentional damage to these bars allows the debris & leaves to enter the system & block water flow. The damage & the time to complete removal of debris & repair would likely result in more flooding & property damage.

Residents are asked to please refrain from removing or damaging drain guards from storm drains.
