Carbonear Volunteer Fire Department Awards and Recognitions presented this week.

This evening the CVFD held a small ceremony to present some awards and recognitions. Over 90 years of combined experience was recognized between 6 of our Firefighters.
Years of recognition were presented to the following firefighters.
Chief Brent Sweeney – 25 Years of Service. Presented by 2nd Assistant Chief Keith Keough
Firefighter John Crawford – 15 Years of Service. Presented by Past Chief and Uncle Tom Crawford
Firefighter Claude Garland – 15 Years of Service. Presented by Chief Brent Sweeney
Firefighter Chris Rodgers – 15 Years of Service. Presented by Chief Brent Sweeney
Firefighter Alistair Milne – 5 Years of Service. Presented by Chief Brent Sweeney
Also recognized but unable to attend this evening was 1st Assistant Chief Adam Earle for 15 Years of Service.
Mayor (and CVFD Member) Frank Butt was also on hand to present the recognized Firefighters with Appreciation from the Town of Carbonear.
We also presented the Clifford Pike Memorial Scholarship (Highest Mark in Level III Literature) and the Fred Chubbs Memorial Scholarship (Highest Average Level III). The recipient of both these scholarships was Devon Barrett. Presenting Devon with his scholarship awards was his father and CVFD member Steve Barrett. Congratulations Devon!
