A message from the Carbonear Volunteer Fire Department: Welcome Santa to the Town of Carbonear

A message from the Carbonear Volunteer Fire Department

After talking to Santa we have decided that he will be coming to Carbonear on Sunday December 13th. We are excited to see Jolly Old St. Nick himself on that day. He is looking forward to seeing all his friends. He wanted to let you know that this year is going to be different due to Covid-19. The fire department has consulted with him and the Town of Carbonear to come up with a way to “Welcome Santa to the Town of Carbonear” in a safe manner.

Like Santa said this year is different.
1. There will be no floats, walkers, dancers or bands. The trucks from our fire department will be escorting Santa through the town.
2. There will be no distribution of candy or treats of any form.
3. Instead of one Sensory Zone like last year we will be having two.
4. There will be no collecting of items for the food bank this year. We ask all residents to donate directly to the food bank of your choice.

The route will take up most of the town. The attached map will show the route as well as the locations of the Sensory Zones. All residents are asked to enjoy this event from either the comfort of there own home or from your front lawn. Keep in mind that the route will not pass by everyone’s house so you may have to move to a location to view. Residents are asked to practice social distancing while viewing the event.

Resident are also asked not to follow during the event to avoid traffic congestion.

Thank you for all your support.
